Social Media for SEO & Social Networking

This week we first learned about how we can use social media to help with the search engine optimization of our web businesses, then we considered the various social networks which can be used to further market our websites.

To help with the search engine optimization of my website, my short term plans are to create a consistent posting schedule, and using consistent and common keywords which will work with my targeted audience. I will measure these results by comparing the engagement I receive on the various social media platforms, with the numbers I get on my actual website.

As far as marketing on social media, I plan on using Instagram as my primary marketing tool, with Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube to further my goals. First, I will (as I mentioned before) maintain a consistent posting schedule of posting on Instagram; use stories to share daily cooking tips; and occasionally IGTV to share cooking and recipe videos. Second, to encourage more community engagement on Instagram and other social media avenues, I will combine the use of the other networks. For example, I might make cooking videos on YouTube, and post them on Pinterest, IGTV, and Facebook. Another example, is I might use Pinterest and Facebook to learn about what sorts of recipes are trending and currently popular, and additionally share originals.
